A financial aid could be of various types. Ordinarily, the financial aids that are provided by the Federal Government in United States for various purposes are better in every respect compared to the financial aids provided by private and other agencies.

Federal loans are extended to student directly subject to the condition that there would be no drop out below half time status. If any student drops out before that time then the loan will be deferred. They will be given some grace period and if they drop out again there will be no further grace.

Such loans are also available to students while they go for the online degrees instead of enrollment in a regular institution.
